1. What if I have a question about the Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu subscription techniques or the site?

If you have a question about the techniques that you are studying, please don't hesitate to contact Sensei Nate Wesner (nathanwesner@jujitsustudies.com).  Unlike DVDs and other media purchased from retailers, the subscription site allows for direct contact and instruction for the Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu technique boards.  When emailing about a question on the techniques, please use your email that you signed up with so that we can verify that you have a subscription.  If you are contacting us about a question regarding the subscription site that does not relate to techniques, please email us at: subscriptionservice@jujitsustudies.com.

2. When I signed up, I was redirected to the Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu subscription site, where are the protected pages to access?

The protected pages are identified by the English name for the belt color, such as Green Belt, Advanced Green Belt, Brown Belt, and so on.  If the English name does not have a link yet, we are still working on the video, photos, and descriptions for that particular belt.  If you click on the Japanese name such as Gokyu, Yonkyu, Sankyu, etc., you will be taken to a page that just lists the techniques for each belt.  This list can be printed off and used to take notes on when reviewing the video, photos, and description site area.

3. Is there any other support material for the subscription site?

Yes, once you receive your Green Belt rank certificates for Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu, you will also be sent an information packet (30+ pages of boards and descriptions of techniques), 1 Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu Patch, and a laminated Jujitsu Kanji copy to hang on your wall.  You will only be sent this packet if you have not already purchased an eBay® Subscription Starter Package, that has these items included.  The reason we wait for you to rank as a Green Belt is to see some dedication toward ranking within the system, as opposed to paying for the subscription for a month just to check out the art.  Here are some photos of what is included with your 1^st Green Belt ranking:

4. What is the ranking process for Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu?

The ranks are based on "time in rank" by subscription time.  Check out the Subscription Site for all of the details and read it over carefully.  The only rank that is not based solely on "time in rank" is the 1^st Degree Black Belt Instructor rank.  This requires passing a test either in person at Wesner's School of Martial Arts or by video.  Also, if you live within 1 1/2 hours driving distance of Wesner's School of Martial Arts, you are required to take each belt rank test in person.

5. Will I need a training partner?

Yes, this is the short answer.  You will need somebody to help feed the techniques to you.  If not a training partner, maybe just a friend or family member.  If you do have a training partner, they may or may not want to rank along with you.  If they want to rank too, they will also need a subscription to the site, or an eBay® Subscription Starter Package.  This will help us track their progress and time in rank too.

6. How should I study for the Yoshin Jujitsu technique boards?

I would first recommend purchasing a binder to keep all of your notes in.  Also, if you can, get those clear sheet protectors to put your papers in to protect them.  Then, go online to the Yoshin Student Ranks page and Yoshin Instructor Ranks page and click on each board and print off those lists of techniques.  These make a great tool for taking notes on when looking at the video online.  Only study small sections, don't try to take in all of the information at one time, it will become overwhelming.  Finally, print off the photos and descriptions for each technique on the subscription site to take with you, along with the notes that you have taken, to your training area to practice.  Again, email me (nathanwesner@jujitsustudies.com) if you have any technique specific questions.

7. When the video is playing, it looks choppy, what can I do to change this?

I would click play on the video, and then click on the pause button until the video is completely downloaded.  Then click play again once the video has been fully loaded and see if that helps.  On computers that still have dial-up service for the internet, this may be the only way to seeing the video play uninterrupted all the way through.

8. I signed up for a subscription on the site, but now I would like to cancel it?

Hi, we appreciate your business, and hate to see you go.  With that being said, we understand that many people get a membership to add a few more techniques to their current curriculum, sign up for a month just to see what the art has to offer or are curious and want to see what Jujitsu is all about.  A student at a school may be preparing for a test and just wants to sign up for a month to sharpen up the techniques at home for a few weeks.  Since we understand that you may not want to keep long term membership to rank in the Yoshin Ryu Jujitsu system online, we made it very easy to cancel your membership and possibly sign up again in the future for a couple of months here or there.  Simply go to the My Profile page and log in, you will be taken to a page that has your information on it.  On the bottom right hand side there is a link that says Cancel Subscription, click on that.  Once you access that page you will see another link that says Cancel Now.  Once you click on this link, your membership will be cancelled instantly, no waiting, no hassles, no more charges.  It's that easy!!!  Again, thank you and we appreciate your business.
